The Problem

The tool store relied on manual registers and spreadsheets: no live overdue visibility, weak custody traceability, bilingual reporting friction, and slow physical stock counts before updating the system.

The Solution

Delivered a full-stack WMS on the existing Tool Store server and LAN — React UI, Express API, PostgreSQL/Prisma, role-based access, dashboard KPIs, QR-assisted issue flows, inspection and count schedules, photo verification on returns, and Excel export across inventory and transaction reports.

Why LAN-first — Phase 1 on existing server

Phase 1 runs on CPHGC’s Tool Store PC and office LAN — no cloud dependency, no new hardware beyond what the site already plans for go-live.

Operational fit

Storekeepers work on the plant network; the app binds to 0.0.0.0 with PostgreSQL in Docker on the same machine. One URL on port 5000 after build — suitable for demo and production on site.

Data stays on site

Tool custody, employee issue history, and audit logs remain on CPHGC infrastructure — aligned with industrial security expectations and RFQ Phase 1 scope (no Oracle/NAS lock-in).
